Il Parco Albanese di Bissuola, polmone verde di Venezia, interessa un'area di 33 ettari di cui 21 ettari di impianti prativi, mentre i restante 12 ettari sono costituiti di aree a bosco e superfici pavimentate (piazzali, vialetti, superfici da gioco ecc.) e superfici acquee. Tutte le superfici sono percorribili, e all’interno del quadrato centrale sono state previste tutte le strutture fisse: la grande piscina, gli altri impianti sportivi, un centro civico, ristorante e due piazze: una a ridosso del centro civico, quale centro di ritrovo, l’altra a servizio della zona degli impianti sportivi sul lato est. L'idea di realizzare il Parco Albanese nasce nel periodo a cavallo tra il 1975 ed il 1980, anni di notevole impegno per l'Amministrazione Comunale nel dare un deciso impulso nello sviluppo del verde pubblico, fino ad allora relegato ad una importanza, per qualità e quantità, da terzo mondo. L'obiettivo che l'Amministrazione si proponeva di conseguire con la realizzazione di quest'opera era di dotare la città di un polmone verde di concezione moderna, adatto alle necessità della città e in linea con i canoni estetici e funzionali di tipo europeo piuttosto che di borgata.
